Quarto. The Locsins initiated the archaeological dig in the Santa Ana district of Manila in 1961 which yielded significant quantities of the earliest type of blue-and-white. Following this more than 200 graves from the 11th - 14th centuries were opened, revealing vast numbers of this little known Oriental export. This book describes the Locsin collection which includes examples from other major Philippine sites such as Puerto Galera and Calatagan. A major scholarly work profusely illustrated and presented in a very readable manner.
