From the library of Professor A.L. Basham neatly annotated in his hand upper joint with author and title, inscribed "With Kindest Regards from the author" upper corner upper wrapper. Off-print from Artibus Asiae Volume XX, 1. Description and identification of a Indian sculpture in Baron von der Heydt's collection dating back to the end of the 9th or first half of the 10th century. This dvarapala is thought to come from a temple in the former Pudukkottai State, the Tanjore, Tiruchirapalli or South Arcot Districts.
