Cohen, Abner.

Arab Border-Villages in Israel. A Study of Continuity and Change in Social Organization.

Manchester Uni. Press. Manchester. 1965. Map, tables, folding genealogy table, xiv + 194pp, bibliography, index, appendix, dustjacket browned and little worn, good copy. The 1948-49 Arab-Israeli War brought sudden political and economic upheavals to the life of Arab villages in the area which came to be known as the Israeli Triangle. This study gives an account not only of the traditional structures in these villages, but also the changes which have taken place in them as a result of the political events of the last two generations and which are continuing with industrialisation and other economic processes.
