Domesday Book seu Liber Censualis Willelmi Primi. 1783. 2 vols; - Libri Censualis vocati Domesday-Book Additamenta ex codic. antiquiss.; - Indices. Accessit dissertatio generalis de ratione huiusce libri.
[Record Commission] 1816, Folio. Edinburgh Subscription Library set, with printed presentation from the Record Commision, 1831, on verso of titles, later in the Public Record Office, with large bookplates and stamps, including 'withdrawn'. This monumental type-facsimile of Domesday Book was first issued without titles; the Record Commissioners later printed title/contents leaves (dated 1783) and provided a volume of Indices (1811). In 1816 Henry Ellis completed the undertaking with Additamenta - an edition of the minor Domesday texts (Exeter, Ely, Winchester, Boldon, with an engr plate from each) - and an introductory essay along with a reprint of the Indices, and these two 1816 volumes make up the full 4-vol set here. Domesday vol I has, unusually, an engr plate (with facing transcript) from the 1800 Report on the Public Records bound after the title.
