Limited edition of 1500 copies, of which this is no. 294, signed by Jean Hersholt and Fritz Kredel. Large 8vo. Finely bound by the Bayntun-Riviere bindery in full brown morocco, spines lettered in gilt, hand marbled endleaves, all edges gilt. Volume 1 contains An Introduction; Denmark's Ugly Duckling by Jean Hersholt; A Series of Letters from Andersen to Horace Scudder (his American editor), hitherto unpublished; and The Thirteen Stories by Andersen which were first printed in America, now re-translated by Jean Hersholt. Volume 2 contains twenty-nine Fairy Tales by Andersen, trranslated by Jean Hersholt.
