By Thomas Clerk. 2 additioinal engraved titles and /frontispiece in both volumes and 88 plates by Clerk after Hogarth. 2 volumes. 8vo. v, [v], 203 pp; [2]ff, 96pp, 92ff. bound in contemporary russia leather, the covers with a gilt border of two sets of double fillets and an interlocking draw-handle roll with blind tooled ornaments in the corners. The spines divided into six panels, lettered in the second and numbered in the fifth, the others tooled in gilt, marbled endleaves and edges. (Rebacked preserving the original spines which had a few cracks and small holes). The numbering of the plates is rather confusing, but they are all present. Most of the plates have the original tissue guards and are foxed. There is also some spotting or browning to the text. It was a handsome binding which has been made good again.
