[6]ff, 480pp; [4]ff, 585pp. Bound in contemporary calf, the covers witha gilt single fillet border and a fillet running adjacent to the spine, the spines divided into seven panels with gilt rules, marbled endleaves, sprinkled edges. (Lacking the lettering and numbering pieces, joints cracked but firm, headcaps broken). Teerink 477. Occasional minor dust-soiling, but a good copy printed on thick paper. The letters were edited by Jonathan Swift, who also wrote the "Life". Bookplates of John, fourth Duke of Bedford, dated 1736, affixed to the verso of the titles and of John, sixth Duke of Bedord, inside the front covers. From the library at Woburn Abbey.
