[197 x 121 x 24 mm]. 200, 62 pp. Contemporary binding of red straight-grained goatskin, the covers with a gilt double fillet and roll border. Smooth spine divided into four panels by gilt fillets and pallets, including a draped curtain, lettered in the second panel, tooled with a ship in the third panel and the top and bottom panels tooled with a repeated star and diamond pallet, the edges of the boards and turn-ins tooled with gilt rolls, marbled endleaves, gilt edges. (A few small wormholes in the joints, causing a short split at the head of the upper joint, tips of the corners exposed, a little rubbed). A very good copy of this work on the state of the Spanish navy in 1834. The binding may have been designed for presentation. With the purple ink stamp of the "Bibliotheca Conde De San-Simon" on the title and ink signature of C. F. H. Twining, dated 1909, on the front flyleaf.
