A Concise Treatise On The Art Of Angling
London by T. Plummer, for B. Crosby and Co 1807 Confirmed by actual Experience; Interspersed with Several New and Recent Discoveries; the whole forming a Complete Museum, for the Lovers of that Pleasing and Rational Recreation.... A new Edition, carefully corrected. Engraved frontispiece. "The Seventh Edition". 12mo. [2]ff, [i], 4-186, [4] pp. Uncut. In the original blue printed wrappers (rebacked in paper, frayed, with a few short tears and a little stained and soiled). With the half-title and final 4pp of advertisements. There is some light browning and spotting but a good copy, entirely uncut and in the original wrappers with advertisements for "Books Published by B. Crosby and Co." on the front and back. The work was first published in 1797. The British Library has eleven editions, the last dated 1838. Their supposed copy of the seventh edition is actually entitled "The fourth edition, corrected and improved", while this copy is clearly marked "seventh edition" on the front wrapper and the title. Ownership inscription of Neil Caw, October 1808, at the head of the title.
