[227 x 142 x 63 mm]. xl, 386 pp; xxii, 424 pp. Bound in the original green cloth lightly grained and embossed with a floral decoration, smooth spines each with a blue printed paper label, plain endleaves and edges. (A few small signs of wear). With the separate advertisement leaf at the end of vol.1. This is a remarkable copy and an early example of a publisher's cloth binding. The labels give the price: "Demy, £1 16s". With an ink presentation inscription and inserted letter from Mary Thompson to Sir Edmund Lechmere dated 1927.
