Letters Written by the Late Mrs Birch

[277 x 208 x 21 mm]. xvi, 152 pp. Bound in contemporary purple goatskin, the covers with a blind border composed of four fillets and a wide leaf and acorn roll, a gilt panel of fillets, gouges and arabesque tools, and the title lettered in gilt at the centre of the front cover within blind gouges. The spine divided into six panels, the bands flanked by gilt pallets, the panels with blind compartments, the edges of the boards and turn-ins gilt tooled with double fillets, mauve endleaves, gilt edges. (A little rubbed). Some light foxing at the front, but a good copy in a handsome binding. The letters were edited by John William Newell Birch and were privately published.
