[2]ff, 92pp. Bound in contemporary half blue goatskin, marbled paper sides, the spine divided into six panels, lettered in the second and at the foot, the fourth tooled with a fox's mask, the others with acorns, leaves, etc, marbled endleaves, gilt edges. The marbling largely faded or rubbed away, upper head cap neatly repaired. Frontispiece and title lightly browned and a few spots, but a good copy. The essay is attributed to Gosden, and the binding may also be one of his own. Ink inscription on front fly-leaf "Presented to me by Captain Richard Lacy, 1841". Bookplate of Oliver Collett.
