[1]f, xvi, 494 pp. Bound in contemporary purple calf, the front cover blocked in gilt with the insignia of the London School of Dental Surgery, the spine divided into six panels, lettered in the second on a green goatskin label, the others elaborately tooled in gilt, marbled endleaves and edges. First published in 1889, this edition has a number of revisions. A very good copy, being a prize for Operative Dental Surgery, awarded to E. Gardner in 1891.
