“for the loyal Princes and faithful Peoples of India”, and his desire to commemorate the occasion “by certain marks of my especial favour and consideration”, followed by the King-Emperor’s announcement that the capital of India was to be transferred to Delhi from Calcutta, that there would be a new Lieutenant-Governorship for Behar, Chota Nagpur and Orissa, and a Chief Commissionership for Assam, overleaf is the Governor General’s announcement of the favours accorded at the Durbar, all of great interest, beginning with 50 lakhs for popular education, bounties of half a month’s pay for non-commissioned ranks in the army and civil service, the opening of the Victoria Cross to the Native members of the Indian Army, grants of land, badges to accompany titles of honour, pensions for certain Indian scholars, and the release of certain prisoners and of those in prison for debt incurred through poverty, with the payment of the debt, woodblock crown at the head of each side, 2 sides printed 13½” x 8½”, n.p., n.d. but India, 1911,
