to see the exhibits by the City’s many engineering firms at the War Memorial Park and to open the redeveloped Broadgate Centre, and including a march past of many local organizations, also to meet the Netherlands Ambassador, the Burgomaster of Arnhem and the Mayor of Caen, with very interesting descriptions of Coventry’s skill in engineering and ribbon making, and a detailed account of the new Broadgate Centre on several levels at the heart of the city, 18 sides in covers 8¾” x 5¾”,  with  the corresponding Police Instructions by the Chief Constable of Coventry, emphasising help and good humour, 14 sides 8” x 5¼”, for 22nd May 1948 In 1946 the Netherlands made a gift of shrubs as a thank you for Allied help in the war, and these were placed in the garden of the new Broadgate. From the collection of Princess Elizabeth’s detective, Inspector Alec Usher (d. 1974), who has noted ‘Car No. 3’ and so on throughout the day.
