Surprise during their visit to Athens, from Grand Harbour, Malta via the Corinth Canal to Piraeus and back to Malta, full of sketch maps, cartoons, humorous items, royal news from England and world news (it was during the Korean War and strained relations with Russia, who had invaded Czechoslovakia the year before), at the end is the Nominal List including the Royal Party and all the officers and men, and under 13th December a signal with the Princess’ signature (roneo’d from typescript like the rest of the newspaper) expressing her appreciation for the voyage, and especially to those “who have worked so hard producing the ‘Despatch’ so that we could read the news at sea”, 37 sides 13½” x 8¼”, printed blue covers with the ship’s badge, the complete set of 8 editions 3rd - 6th and 11th - 14th December 1950, From the collection of Inspector A. Usher (d. 1974), the Princess’s detective.
