Signature, neatly laid down, no date, c. 1920 Lord Ampthill was Private Secretary, 1897-1900, to Joseph Chamberlain, Governor of Madras 1899-1906, and Viceroy of India in 1904. He was one of the founders of the National Party, 1918.
