BANBURY

(Frederick George, 1850-1936, 1st Baron, M.P.) Autograph Letter Signed to Dr. Maurice Ernst

(later Ernest, 1872-1955), returning his “papers and thank you for sending them. I am much obligedfor your kind sympathy for the death of my cousin - It is an infliction which we must bear nowadays”, Warneford Place, Highworth, Wiltshire, 7th September 1917, Lord Banbury was M.P. for the City of London, 1906-1924, and Chairman of the Great Northern Railway. Dr. Ernst was London correspondent of the ‘Neues Wiener Tagblatt’ before the first World War. Although he gave up journalism in 1909 to return to medicine and the promotion of longevity, he took an intense interest all his life in Austrian and German relations with Great Britain.
