sending “a copy of the Free Catholic [not present] in which I wrote down my proposals ... Mr Berry of Carr’s Lane [Congregational] & I” had embodied in a letter to the Bishop of Birmingham [H.R. Wakefield] “a proposal based on these lines for uniting the work of Carr’s Lane & this Cathedral”, he talks of certain difficulties felt on both sides about mutual ordination, “Personally I am inclined to risk something for the great object”, 1 side 4to., Cathedral Rectory, Birmingham, 7th August 1918
