This particular ‘Reading’ isa big undertaking and I have taken my coat off to the job”, 2 sides 8vo., 18 Berkeley Square, 13th December 1898 Bancroft was manager of the old Prince of Wales and Haymarket theatres for twenty years, and was responsible for the revival of stage drama. He devoted much time to “readings” for hospitals throughout the country, and raised £20,000.
