All the Characters have a connection with either Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex. They include Nelson, Robert Walpole, Thomas Gainsborough, Sarah Trimmer, Cardinal Wolsey, The Duchess of Newcastle, & Humphrey Repton. This would appear to be a shortened version of a work - The Lives of Eminent & Remarkable Characters born or long resident in Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk published the same year, but with 68 portraits.
