London. John Ebers. 1826. pp. xxix, 240. 12mo. Original boards, spine repaired and relaid retaining label. 2nd edition. Chapters 3, 8 & 9 all have brief mentions of Byron. The author is better know as Sir Henry Bulwer. In the autumn of 1824 he was authorised by the Greek Committee as their agent and sent out to Morea. He was accompanied by Hamilton Browne, who only the year before had been commissioner by Byron to treat with the insurgents at Cephalonia. This is his account of that time. Chew notes that Bulwer wrote a Life of Lord Byron which is prefixed to the 1835 Galignani editon of Byron’s Works
