ROBOT REVOLUTION. THE IMPLICATIONS OF AUTOMATION.

Socialist Society, Pennsylvania, 1955. First Edition. Wraps. 8vo. pp 48, 2 illus. Book starts - 'Have you been replaced yet?' A left wing, slightly alarmist look at the increasing use of technology in the workplace. Deals, among other things, with the implications of the use of computers - citing the Univac computer at General Electric. It talks of how an IBM 650 could become a 'weapon of terror in the wrong hands' --i.e. those of a totalitarian dictator. An interesting, early and scarce publication. Black graphically illustrated wraps lettered yellow, v sl creasing o/w vg+. The work is a result of the co-operative 'research, thinking and writing' of the above authors, all at the time part of 'Socialist Society.'
