AGA HEAT LIMITED.

THE SAGA OF THE AGA.

Aga Heat Ltd., London, First Edition. Wraps. Oblong 4to. 11 inches by 9. pp 16, Illustrated in colour and b/w throughout. About 1947 - 1950, another illustrated folding pamphlet loosely inserted refers to 'Pre War Luxury on a post war income...' Although that income would have to be pretty high as the average cost of the stove was about £100, at at a time when decent houses could be had at a little over £1000. Payment plans over 3 years are offered from Aga's smart Mayfair Offices. Very nice condition. Small portrait at front of the blind Dr Gustaf Dalen, the Nobel prize winning Swedish physicist who invented the Aga. When his loss of sight forced him to stay at home he noticed how the housewife was '...harrassed by the constant care of watching food as it cooked and keeping up the kitchen fire. To end that...he invented the Aga...' A design classic.
