Marcus Minucius Felix was probably born in Africa in 120 A.D.and died in 180. Evidently a lawyer in the courts of Rome, he penned what is undoubtedly the most ancient Latin Christian dialogue extant and may very well be the first contribution to the literature of the Latin Church. This dialogue, Octavius, consists of forty short chapters and was, in all probability, written some time after 163 A.D." No early Christian writer" the reverend Baylis opines "is so elegant as Minucius Felix, and none exposes so clearly the more serious religious thought of the ancient Roman world..."
