BARKER, Walter.

THE LLANGOCH CHRONICLES. *SIGNED*

Avon Books, East Molesey, Surrey, 1993. First Edition. Wraps. 8vo. Illustrated wraps. 124pp. Signedby the author on the title page. Walter Barker was born in Fulham in 1927 and, after serving a five-year apprenticeship as a Toolmaker with the B.S.A. bicycle firm, worked on the London Underground. Utilising his skills as engineer and technician, he designed and built a model railway, The Gowen Valley Light Railway. This experience prompted the writing of The Llangoch Chronicles, being the fictitious historical account of the circumstances and events both economical and domestic that brought about the construction and operation ( during the Industrial Revolution ) of a steam worked passenger railway. Very good.
