Florence, della stamperia Piatti, 1817. 4to, pp. [8], 118, with 9 engraved plates; bound in recent boards. First edition. Description of a hoard of ancient gold coins struck by Greek settlers in Asia Minor which the author discovered in Munich in the collection of the king of Bavaria. At the end of the main text is a annotated bibliography (4 pp.) of antiquarian and numismatic works published by the author between 1774 and 1817. Sestini was the librarian and antiquary to Prince Biscari in Sicily from 1774 to 1778, by 1780 he was the numismatist of Robert Ainslie, English Ambassodor to the Porte, using his time to travel widely in Asia Minor.Cicognara 3001; Lipsius-Leitzman, p. 129.
