Only edition of this account of a nobvel aerial ropeway for transporting quantities of soil to inaccessible terraces for the cultivation of olive trees or grapevines. Giuseppe Rotari, the inventor, christened the device a 'geanaforo', which he explains on the verso of the titlepage is a neologism from the Greek. The plates are unusually attractive for a specialised work of this nature and show the machinery operating in landscape settings as well as technical illustrations.
