Nuremberg and Leipzig, 1792. 8vo, pp. 63, [1], with large folding plate, engraved by the author after Georg Wilhem Krämer and with fine contemporary colouring, additionally bound in as a frontispiece is a portrait of King Frederic Wilhelm II of Prussia engraved by G.J. Schrazenstaller; a little light even browning; contemporary green boards, rubbed and spine mended. First edition of a rare fete book celebrating the arrival of Frederick Wilhelm II at Ansbach in 1791 taking possession of that territory and Bayreuth for the Prussian crown. The second part of the account is given over to the description of the giant triumphal arch designed by the architect and Hofbauinspektor Jacob Axel; it is illustrated with a fine large coloured plate at the end. The monumental arch, although only constructed from timber and painted and marbled cloth, graced the main square of Ansbach for many months after the departure of the king due to popular request.Berlin Kat. 2925; KVK locates 4 copies in Germany; not in RLIN or OCLC.
