Florence, Guglielmo Piatti, 1818. 4to, pp. [8], 227, with 10 engraved plates; an excellent copy in contemporary half calf and marbled boards. First edition of Sestini's catalogue of Michael a Wickzay, Count of Hédervár's ancient Spanish coin collection. Sestini had been librarian and antiquary to Prince Biscari in Sicily from 1774 to 1778, by 1780 he was the numismatist of Robert Ainslie, English Ambassador to the Porte, using his time to travel widely in Asia Minor. Later he was antiquary in Hungary to Count Wiczay of Hédervár whose fine collection of Greek, Roman and other coins in the Hedervar Museum he catalogued over a number of years.Borroni 674; Lipsius/Leitzmann, p. 130; Murray, Museums, III, p. 270; RLIN locates only the Yale copy; not in OCLC.
