From the collection of the historian and diplomat Johann Carl Conrad Oelrich (1722-99), title verso with oval library stamp 'Bibliotheca Oelrichsiana'. First edition of a charming essay on the origins of the goldsmith's art composed to celebrate the silver wedding anniversary of the goldsmith and jeweller, Johann Christian Müller of Berlin. The work was published anonymously and is not in Holzmann/Bohatta. The Staatsbiblithek Berlin attributes it in KVK to Moehsen (1722-95), eminent physician in Berlin and since 1778 physician to the King.
