Rare first edition, the archival copy (Frei-Exemplar) of the Royal Statistical Bureau, with two additional tables not found in other copies. This history of statistics in Prussia was published for the private use of the Statistical Bureau and for the participants of the International Statistical Conference in Berlin.‘The Statistische Seminar at the Royal Prussian Statistical Bureau was founded by Ernst Engel and Richard Boeckh in 1862. It played a pioneering role in establishing a methodological apparatus for censuses in Germany and, moreover, for the teaching and organisation of statistics and for population statistics in particular … From this Statistical Seminar emerged eminent population statisticians such as Knapp, L. Brentano, E. Würzburger, and R. R.
