Two vols, 12mo, pp. [vi],400 + errata leaf; [ii], 276; a fine, crisp copy in contemporary mottled calf, a few minor scrapes, bookplate sometime removed, spines gilt in compartments, with contrasting gilt lettering- and numbering-pieces. Scarce first edition, a nice set. One of Forbonnais’ major works, the Éléments du commerce ‘has the distinction of being the first French work on economics using mathematical argument.
