The 1792 edition of the annually issued Army list. It lists the officers in the British Army by rank, regiment and garrison. Many of those named in this issue would go on to serve during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.Provenance: This copy with the bookplate of Francis Longe of Spixworth Park, Norfolk. The Longe family crest of a seated lion holding a saltier is engraved on the front and back covers. Francis Longe (1748–1812) held the position of high sheriff from 1786. The text includes several annotations recording subsequent status changes (for example, promotions).
