Original Souvenir Program Featuring Sheet Music for the Film, A Star is Born

Los Angeles Warner Bros. 1976 First Edition. Paperbound, 9” x 11 3/4”. A special film program featuring the words and music from the film A Star is Born, made by the studio for advance screenings, illustrated with scenes from the film. An updated remake of the 1937 film, A Star is Born, which starred Judy Garland and James Mason. This version was written by John Gregory Dunne, Joan Didion, and Frank Pierson, and starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, and won the Oscar for Best Music, Original Song for “Evergreen,” the love theme from the film, music by Barbra Streisand, lyrics by Paul Williams. Fine in printed wrappers. Laid in is a single page invitation (8 1/2” x 11”) from Warner Bros. to Academy members, dated January 19, 1977, for a screening of the film, for considerations for Academy Award nominations - in fine condition. Included is the separate sheet music and lyrics for “Evergreen” recorded by Barbra Streisand on Columbia Records - in fine condition.
