Paolo Fumagalli, c. Florence, 1840. Folio, text in parallel French and Italian; with twelve engraved plates, seven of them handcoloured; light stain in lower corners but a fine, crisp copy in original half vellum. A remarkably handsome book, reminiscent of Bodoni's printing, with a fine series of engravings of topographical drawing techniques. The coloured plates are especially interesting as Perrot specifically sets out to address the question of colouring of maps and topographical drawings. Some interesting details are covered here, such as the order in which the components of an image should be coloured by the artist.

All items are guaranteed as described. If an item is not as described, it is returnable within seven days of receipt, unless other arrangements are made. Full refunds are given only when items are received in the same condition in which they were sent.
