Potsdam: Riegel, 1829. First edition of this rare work on sericulture and a lovely copy from the library of the Kings of Hannover. Türk (1774-1846), was a high government official in the education department. The present work is one of the most complete of the time in Germany on the rearing of silkworms under artificial or domesticated conditions, their feeding, the formation of cocoons, etc. and the manufacture of silk and textiles made from silk.
