Ninth edition (first Giessen, 1623; the 5th--8th editions were also printed at Oxford, from 1531--1657).
§ A summary of the topics covered in the standard university philosophy courses of the time, first issued in Giessen in 1623 where Scheibler was a professor and a Lutheran divine. The book was adopted as an Oxford textbook in 1531 and a new section on Arithmetic added in 1639. 'The whole is in a scholastic form, admirably adapted for a lecturer's purpose.' (Madan 927.)
