Padua, per Paulo Frambotto, 1664. 4to, pp. [6], 80, with rich allegorical engraved border enclosingprinted title, 12 woodcuts of ancient coinage in the text, some woodcut transcriptions of inscriptions; a very good, clean and crisp copy in contemporary mottled calf, richly gilt spine. First edition of this rare and early description of the town of Este in the North East of Italy and its early history. It was a Roman military colony with many archaeological remains; in 1275 it passed to Padua, and in 1405 to Venice.Lozzi 1479 note.
