Presentation copy: "Sonja Vacher with the Author's very best good wishes for Xmas & the New Year". A curious tale about an inn in Hamburg, Le Dragon Rouge, which operates as a clandestine casino where the narrator's girl-friend is imprisoned and forced to work as a croupier. One page undated advertisements. The dust-wrapper, a scarce survival, is in two halves and lacks most of the spine as well as being chipped on the edges. The book has a short split to the upper joint.
