DUNART (Émile).
Histoire de Manneken-Pis, D'Après des Documents Entièrement Inédits, Suivie d'une Notice Historique sur la Fontaine de Manneken-Piss.
Bruxelles, Chez les Principaux Libraires. 1847. First edition. Original printed wrappers. 12mo. pp.120. The story of the Manneken-Piss in fictionalised form followed by a factual account of the statue created by Jérôme Duquesnoy in 1619, which, to this day, is the only inhabitant of Brussels who conserves "le droit d'arrôser impunément les rues de la capitale". Such was the affection the statue was held in, various dress uniforms were made for him to wear on special occasions. A folding coloured frontispiece shows the statue in two of these and in his natural state. Some foxing, otherwise a very good copy.
