New York, Macmillan and Co. [Colophon: Printed by R. & R. Clark, Edinburgh], 1894. xvi pp. (incl. frontispiece) + 310 pp. + folding map in colour + folding chart of altitudes traversed. Text illustrations including 12 full-page. Publisher's pictorial cloth, two bookplates removed. Originally published at Calcutta in 1893, this is the second edition, which appeared in two issues (the other one in London). It is a highly detailed and very interesting diary of the author's exploration in the Tibetan highlands from Leh to Tatsien-lu through Tsang-tang in 1891–2.
