(George William Frederick Brudenell-Bruce, 1804-1878, 2nd Marquess) Printed Letter signed, to 'Sir',

circulated to Wiltshire Gentlemen, telling them that Mrs. Assheton Smith, whose husband lately hunted the Tedworth Hounds, is offering them to be kept in the country, his lordship is not a Candidate for the honour, but that several gentlemen are meeting at the Star Inn, Andover, on the 7th at 1 o’clock for discussion “and if necessary” to enter “into a subscription ... to preserve this fine Pack of Hounds to this Country”, so that he may return an answer to Mrs. Smith, 1 side 8vo. black-edged, Savernake Forest, Marlborough, Wiltshire, 2nd October 1858 The Marquess was Yeomanry A.D.C. to Queen Victoria, 1857, and Master of the Horse three times between 1859 and 1874.
