London: George Bell and Sons. 1885. Squarish 8vo., pp. [4], 158, [2], with half-title and terminalleaf of advertisements; a fine copy in the original parchment-backed boards, spine slightly soiled. First edition, printed on hand-made paper at the Chiswick Press. There was a revised edition in 1894, and in 1935 the Gregynog Press brought out an edition with engravings from a selection of the drawings that Edward Burne-Jones had prepared for William Morris’s Cupid and Psyche, a work that was never published.
