Boston: James R. Osgood, 1884. First edition. BAL 9612, form A. Oblong 8vo, original pictorial brown cloth, brown lettering. Illustrated by Mildred Howells. ¶ A sketchbook by the 10-year-old daughter of William Dean Howells, recording her impressions of the Venetian painters, drawn during a trip to Venice with her parents and here published by Osgood, with her father's commentary. Howells' clipped signature pasted to the front free endpaper. Cloth slightly worn, but a very good copy - much better than usually encountered.
