An exquisite reproduction of the original Flanders edition of circa 1500, a "book of hours" written in French-Gothic calligraphy and illuminated by three different artists. Illustrations include depictions of flowers, animals, fruits, and insects as well 24 calendar illustrations and hundreds of initial letters in burnished gold. This palm-sized edition is reproduced in eight separate colors on specially formulated paper and bound in fine gilt-stamped sheepskin. A.e.g. Includes suede presentation box and book of commentary in matching suede wrappers. Vatican Library certificate of authenticity not present, otherwise, Book of Hours, commentary, and presentation box all extremely fine. (3 3/4 by 2 3/4; 95x70mm.).
