Baillière, 1821. First edition and a very fine copy in red morocco with the arms of Louis Philippe as Duc d’Orléans on each cover. Foderà (1793-1848), a native of Sicily, took his medical degree at the University of Catania and then settled in Paris. He was one of the leading critics of the controversial (and somewhat loony) theories of Broussais (1772-1838), which are fully discussed in the present work. Fine and handsome copy.
