First published in 1809 in the "Christian Guardian", and since then many time reprinted in the nineteeth century. Richmond held strict evangelical views, being stronly influenced by William Wilberforce. Frontispiece designed and engraved by W.J. White. Inscription on rear free-endpaper dated 1812. One page undated advertisements. Small worm hole at foot of spine affecting the inner margin of the first few leaves, otherwise a very good copy.
