Gray, 1739. 2 vols., 8vo., pp. xvi, 436, [10, index]; [2], 440, [8, index]; trimmed rather close at the head in some places touching headlines but text unaffected; contemporary tree calf, spines gilt, red morocco labels; minor wear, but an attractive set. First collected edition of this Whig periodical, first issued in 160 numbers in 1735-38, and here reprinted with different numeration as 103 numbers. The last original issue is dated 30 March 1738, the last issue here 13 March. The editors were Benjamin Avery and Samuel Chandler, and the list of subscribers includes all the prominent Whig grandees (Walpole, Pelham, etc.).
