BAL 9619, state 1; Wright III, 2829. 8vo, original decorated blue cloth, gilt lettering. ¶ Howells’ most famous novel, and one of the cornerstone works of American realistic fiction, the story of the newly rich businessman, Silas Lapham, and his frustrations in dealing with Boston Brahmins. Cloth somewhat soiled and a little worn; very good copy.
